A shocking incident occurred in Chhota Udepur, Gujarat, when a man brought the body of his murdered wife to the police station. The victim was attacked by her husband with a sharp weapon, resulting in her death. The suspect has been arrested. TNN reported
When a car arrived at the Zoz police station in Chhota Udepur on Wednesday morning, the officers were taken aback. A young man emerged from the car carrying the lifeless body of a 40-year-old woman and placed it outside the police station.
The woman, identified as Jhinki Nayka, had been murdered by her husband, Remla, the previous night in Khanpur village in Morbi. Shockingly, their son Hasmukh not only brought his mother’s body to the police station but also brought Remla along, demanding legal action against him.
According to the Chhota Udepur police, Remla, his wife, their sons, and other family members had been working as farm laborers in Morbi for the past few months. However, they were originally from Chhota Udepur.
The gruesome incident took place when Remla and Jhinki were sleeping in their hutment in Morbi. Without warning, Remla attacked his wife with a sharp weapon, causing severe injuries to her head and face, resulting in her immediate death. Upon hearing her screams, Remla’s brothers, who were sleeping outside, rushed to the scene.
Remla’s family members contacted their employer, Rajesh Davera, who came to the location and advised them to return to their native village in Chhota Udepur. He even arranged for a car for them. Jhinki’s mother, who also worked as a farm laborer in the same area, was informed of the incident.
Deciding to take Jhinki’s body back to their native village, Remla’s sons, other family members, and the deceased’s mother embarked on an overnight journey of over 410 kilometers. However, instead of going directly to their village, Remla’s son Hasmukh drove the car to the Zoz police station.
The police station filed a complaint and subsequently transferred the case to the Morbi police, as the crime had occurred in their jurisdiction. The investigators questioned Remla about his motive for killing his wife, but he refused to provide any information. Remla was arrested by the Morbi police on Wednesday evening and taken back to Morbi for further legal proceedings..
