A special investigation team from the Ernakulam rural police has apprehended the prime suspect in the twin murders in Muvattupuzha, Odisha. A special investigation team formed by the Ernakulam rural police in Kochi has successfully apprehended the main suspect behind the twin murders in Muvattupuzha. The suspect, identified as Gopal Malik, a 22-year-old from Odisha, was taken into custody with the assistance of local police in Odisha. The victims, Deepasankar and Mohanto, both natives of Assam, were found dead on Sunday, and Malik had fled the scene. The arrest was made by a special investigation team led by rural SP Vivek Kumar. The motive behind the murder will be determined after thorough questioning.
In another development, the city police have arrested notorious gangster Aneesh Antony, also known as Maradu Aneesh. Acting on a tip-off, the police apprehended Aneesh from a hospital where he was recovering from surgery. Aneesh is a wanted criminal with over 45 cases against him in various police stations in Kerala, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu. The charges against him include murder, abduction, and attempted murder. The arrest is related to attempted murder cases in the Thrikkakara police station limits last year and an abduction case within the Panangad police station limits last month.
Furthermore, a man and a woman were arrested in Angamaly with 50 grams of MDMA. The arrests were made during a vehicle checking operation based on information received by the district police chief (Ernakulam rural) Vivek Kumar. The individuals arrested were identified as Ziya, a 32-year-old resident of Pallithazham, and Sajith, a 28-year-old resident of North Paravur.
In recent news, an investigating officer involved in the snake venom case against YouTuber Elvish Yadav has been transferred to another police station in Noida. The case has been reassigned to Sector 20 police station for further investigation. The results of forensic tests on the suspected snake venom are still pending, and Yadav has not been summoned for questioning yet. Five suspects were apprehended on November 3, and nine snakes were rescued, but Yadav’s involvement is still under investigation. Yadav has denied all allegations and expressed his willingness to cooperate with the police.
In Bengaluru, the police have detained a former car driver in connection with the murder of a senior geologist. Five of the accused have been arrested, while the juveniles involved in one case are still at large. The incidents include assault on a student, sexual remarks and advances made by an autorickshaw driver, and indecent acts committed by a man in public. The police are actively investigating the cases and searching for the perpetrators..
