Pastor Arrested for Fake Prophecies and Abduction of a 21-Year-Old Lady in Ogun State
A pastor named Sunday, belonging to a Cherubim and Seraphim Church in the Agbado area of Ogun State, has been apprehended for allegedly making fake prophecies and kidnapping a 21-year-old woman identified as Aliu Blessing.
The Ogun State Police Command, in an exclusive interview with PUNCH Metro on Tuesday, revealed that the victim had visited the church to take care of her ailing sister when the pastor claimed that she would die on her wedding day unless she had sexual relations with him.
The pastor also supposedly warned that any man who tried to have a sexual relationship with any woman other than himself would meet the same fate. This deceitful prophecy and manipulative behavior led the pastor to allegedly abduct the young lady on February 2, 2023, taking her to an undisclosed location and causing immense distress and chaos within her family.
After more than seven months of abduction, the victim’s uncle, Aliu Yusuf, informed the police that the family was shocked when Blessing returned home on November 5, 2023, and shared her harrowing experience. She revealed that Sunday had taken her to his family house in Ilaro and subsequently to a hotel, where he allegedly engaged in non-consensual sexual intercourse with her multiple times.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola, confirmed the arrest of the suspect and stated that he had confessed to his crimes. The suspect is currently in police custody and will face prosecution once the investigation is concluded.
Furthermore, Odutola mentioned that the victim has shown signs of a mental disorder and has been taken to a hospital for medical examination. This revelation raises concerns about the psychological impact of the traumatic experience she endured while being held captive by the deceitful pastor.
