A suspect has been charged and police are searching for others in connection with the shooting of a teenager in Pontiac, Michigan. Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard stated that there may be more people involved in the incident than initially thought, and he is asking for the public’s assistance in the investigation. The suspect who has been charged is K’Nique Lawrence, a 32-year-old man with previous felony convictions. He is accused of murdering 16-year-old Disiree Childs, who was caught in the crossfire while walking near her home. Lawrence was apprehended at a local motel without incident. It has been revealed that another suspect, Jameel Tanzil, has been linked to the shootout where Childs was tragically killed. Court records indicate that shell casings found at the scene match guns found in Tanzil’s possession. However, he has not yet been charged in connection with Childs’ murder. Witnesses reported seeing muzzle flashes coming from Tanzil’s home, which was just a few feet away from where Childs was shot. When police searched Tanzil’s home, they discovered three children and two guns, one of which had recently been fired. During the investigation, authorities learned of four stolen guns that Tanzil had been connected to. They also found a loaded tactical rifle at his listed probation address. Sheriff Bouchard emphasized that there may be more individuals involved in the shooting and urged the public to come forward with any information. The murder of Childs is still under investigation, and anyone with relevant information is encouraged to contact Crime Stoppers. A reward of $2,000 has been offered for information leading to an arrest in the case..
