The lifeless body of a 12-year-old boy, identified as Willians Lemus Ayala, was discovered on Monday in Santa Clarita. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department confirmed his identity on Tuesday. The tragic incident occurred near the intersection of Sand Canyon and Placerita Canyon roads in Canyon Country. Ayala’s body was found in a brush-filled area on the side of a remote road, with an apparent gunshot wound. Authorities pronounced him dead at the scene. It is unclear whether the boy was killed at the location where he was found or if his body was left there.
Initially, authorities believed the body belonged to an adult man, but further investigation revealed the victim’s true age. The police have not released any information about potential suspects at this time. However, they are considering the possibility that the incident may be gang-related.
