Farmer Killed and Candidates Injured in Masbate Ambush
During an ambush in Masbate, a farmer was tragically killed and two individuals, including a barangay candidate, were injured, according to Commission on Elections (COMELEC) Chairman George Erwin Garcia on Tuesday, October 24th.
Based on a report from the Placer Municipal Police Station, the farmer who lost his life was identified as Abraham Dolores, a supporter of Nehemias Sayam, who is running for barangay captain in Brgy. Tan-awan.
The ambush took place in Brgy. Tan-awan in Placer on Monday, October 23rd, where Dolores met his untimely demise.
In addition to Dolores, Nehemias Sayam and Jewel Sayam were also injured in the attack.
According to the police, the three individuals were ambushed by six suspected members of the communist terrorist group (CTG).
Initial investigations have revealed that during Nehemias Sayam’s campaign, the suspects used various firearms and explosives, resulting in the injuries sustained by Nehemias Sayam, Jewel Sayam, and the tragic death of Abraham Dolores.
