TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol — A devastating accident occurred in Carmen town, Bohol province on Monday morning, resulting in the deaths of three individuals and leaving three others injured. The driver of the vehicle had fallen asleep while driving near the famous chocolate hills, causing the vehicle to collide with a bridge.
The victims who tragically lost their lives have been identified as Abelardo Cagampang, Marlon Ondos, and Janice BonBon.
The injured passengers have been identified as Lucino Cagampang, aged 34, Jasper Ardones, aged 23, and the driver, Jun Re Malisa Cagampang, aged 39.
All the passengers involved in the accident were from Davao del Sur.
According to Police Staff Sergeant Rustico Bitasolo Jr., a traffic investigator at Carmen Police Station, the incident took place at 6:20 a.m. on Monday.
Bitasolo stated that the group was en route to Carmen town when the driver of the Nissan NV3 Van fell asleep, leading to the collision with the side wall of the Camanayon Bridge in Barangay Buenos Aires.
The van was loaded with electronic products at the time of the accident, as mentioned by Bitasolo.
