A man from Wyoming has been arrested in Danville following a deadly stabbing incident that occurred over the weekend. The suspect, Ipolito Rodriguez-Sanchez, 49, hailing from Saratoga, Wyoming, was apprehended on Saturday and is now facing charges of first-degree murder. The incident took place in the early hours of Saturday morning at the intersection of Fairchild and Giddings Streets. Police were dispatched to the scene after receiving a 911 call reporting an unknown problem.
Upon arriving at the scene, officers discovered that a stabbing had occurred. However, the victim, a 22-year-old man, had already left the area by the time the officers arrived. At 2:10 a.m., the victim arrived at the Emergency Room of OSF Sacred-Heart Medical Center, where officers were able to make contact with him. The victim had been stabbed in the chest and leg and tragically succumbed to his injuries 12 hours later.
